| Item | Value | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| BTC price | $81,740 (Bitrue 81,740 · Binance 81,765 · Bybit 81,759 · Gate.io 81,757 · Upbit ₩110,430,000) | Under 0.03% between exchanges — no arbitrage gap |
| BTC 24h | -0.51% ($82,159 → $81,740) | Within 1% for the day — catching its breath |
| BTC 24h range | $81,146 ~ $82,641 (hourly closes) | Range 1.8% — about average |
| ETH price | $2,425 (24h -0.65%) | moving in step with bitcoin |
| Market breadth | 73 up · 188 down (of 261) | Far more coins fell = the market moved down as a whole |
| Above the long-term trendline (EMA200) | 95 coins (57%) | about half = the long-term trend is neutral |
| Kimchi premium (USDT basis) | +0.62% (24h range -0.06% to +0.76%) | Korea is slightly more expensive = normal domestic demand |
| Kimchi premium (BTC basis) | +0.61% (Upbit ₩110,430,000 ÷ FX 1,342.74 = $82,242 vs $81,740) | the same bitcoin, priced at home vs overseas |
| USDT/KRW | 1,351 KRW (reference rate 1,342.74 KRW) | Tether trades 0.6% more expensive than the reference rate |
| Futures funding rate (BTC) | 0.01% per 8h (Binance 0.01% · OKX 0.01% · Gate.io 0.0051%) | At the baseline = longs are not crowded |
| Measured $100 fill (Binance BTC/USDT) | $81,765 · 0% slippage ($100,000 also 0.001%) | fills at the quoted price — plenty of liquidity |
A funding rate at the 0.01% baseline means longs are not crowding the futures market. And a premium near zero means both sides run at a similar temperature. With far more losers than gainers, the market was pressed down today.
Biggest gainers and losers (24h)
We count only coins with at least $10M turnover listed on three or more exchanges (this keeps single-venue pumps and scam tokens out). Prices come from the largest venue by turnover; turnover from the largest spot venue.

Kimchi premium right now
The kimchi premium (the price gap between Korean and overseas exchanges) is +0.62% — 24h average +0.45%, range -0.06% to +0.76%. Korea is slightly more expensive = normal domestic demand.
Coins with the widest gaps in our latest scan (one row per coin):
- BLUR premium — LBank $0.0107 · Upbit $0.0109 — 1.98% apart
- INJ premium — HTX $8.60 · Upbit $8.71 — 1.32% apart
- BR premium — LBank $0.4205 · Bithumb $0.4264 — 1.40% apart
Read these gaps after fees, transfer time and FX. They are not an arbitrage call — they are a thermometer for which side of the market runs hotter.
Funding-rate skew (which way futures lean)
The funding rate is a fee that passes periodically between longs and shorts in perpetual futures. Positive means longs pay shorts; the further it drifts from the 0.01% baseline, the more crowded one side is.
- BTC 0.01% per 8h (about 0.03% a day) — At the baseline = longs are not crowded
- ETH 0.0067% per 8h (about 0.02% a day) — At the baseline = longs are not crowded
- BR a lot of money is betting it falls — holding leverage costs about 2.58% a day (Bybit)
- DNA a lot of money is betting it falls — holding leverage costs about 1.68% a day (BingX)
A holding cost this wide is not an income opportunity — it is a signal that one side is badly crowded. On such coins, price swings dwarf the fee.
Yesterday's main stories
1. Bitcoin Bounces Back After Dip Triggered by US CPI Inflation Data
On October 14 (US time), reports showed that the US September Consumer Price Index (CPI, a key measure of inflation) rose 3.7% year-over-year, exceeding market expectations of 3.6%. The higher-than-expected figure raised concerns over potential Federal Reserve rate hikes and prolonged high interest rates, pushing Bitcoin down to the $79,770 level and causing $970 million in leverage liquidations (forced closures of leveraged trading positions). On October 16, a weakening US dollar and a tech stock rebound prompted dip buying (purchasing assets after a price fall), lifting Bitcoin back above $82,000 and Ethereum above $2,400.
The brief sell-off caused widespread liquidations, but subsequent dip buying helped major cryptocurrencies recover a portion of their losses.
2. Bitcoin Spot ETFs See Inflow Reversal While Ethereum ETFs Suffer Outflows
According to reports by BigGo Finance and SoSoValue on October 16, US-listed Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a net inflow of $5.06 million on October 15, rebounding from a previous net outflow of -$261 million, with BlackRock's IBIT bringing in $16.79 million. In contrast, Ethereum spot ETFs experienced a net outflow of $60.22 million on the same day, driven by $44.39 million in outflows from BlackRock's ETHA.
Diverging institutional fund flows between Bitcoin and Ethereum have contributed to Ethereum's relative price weakness.
3. Deutsche Bank Prepares to Launch Cryptocurrency Custody Service
In an interview with Reuters reported on October 16, Gerald Podobnik, Co-Head of Corporate Banking at Deutsche Bank, announced that the German financial giant plans to launch a cryptocurrency custody service (a secure storage facility for holding digital assets) in Germany within just weeks to support Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The entry of a major traditional global bank into digital asset custody boosted long-term expectations for institutional investment.
